About Us

Honor Thy Elders was founded in 2009 by Caryl C. Abshire. She has worked in the healthcare industry since 1983. Her experience managing senior health care communities brings a vast amount of professional experience and knowledge, which she uses to assist her clients find the best senior community that is most compatible to their medical, personal care needs, social and financial requirements.

Caryl has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Texas and California, as well as a certified administrator of Assisted Living in California. Caryl has also directed an Adult Daycare facility in Lodi and worked in a hospital.

Let Caryl’s  knowledge help you navigate the choices, costs, and processes of finding the senior community that best suits you or your loved one. She will also help negotiate the best deal for you, once you choose the perfect community. 

Our other Senior Care Consultant, Gloria Resnick, brings her personal experience as a caregiver of over 20 years to assist families. She truly understands the special needs of the elderly and the stress and pressures that being a family caregiver experiences.

Unlike many free referral sources, Caryl and Gloria work with all communities in the area, not just a select few.
